About

I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Digital Engineering, Long Island University in New York. I earned my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. Then, I had the honor of working under the mentorship of Professors Gerhard A. Holzapfel and Ray Ogden in the computational biomechanics field at the Institute of Biomechanics, Graz University of Technology, Austria. My primary research interests focus on the computational modeling and simulation of soft fibrous tissues, especially arterial walls and prosthetic heart valves. In particular, I have worked on characterizing bioprosthetic heart valve tissues through mechanical tests and computational simulations of prosthetic heart valves at the University of Connecticut and Columbia University.
